Refresher Training program on kurukh Language, 2024 was held from 19.03.2024 to 20.03.2024. This training program was organised by Cultural Research Institute, Kolkata, Govt of West Bengal in collaboration with Kurukh Literary Society of India Kolkata Chapter and this was sponsored by Tribal Development Department, Govt of WB. This program was held at Sidhu Kanu Bhavan, Salt Lake, Kolkata. In this program 32 Kurukh trainees participated from all over South Bengal who were previously participated in the primary level training program. 4 Trainers of KLSI Kolkata Chapter provided advance level training, specially on story writing, dialogue writing etc through tolong siki. Story telling and conversation session was, also, held. A test of the trainees was taken and participation Certificate was given. This two days Refresher Training program was mainly organised for promotion and development of Kurukh language. This two days Refresher Training program was inaugurated by Deputy Director, Cultural Research Institute, Kolkata, Govt of WB. This is definitely a good effort towards promotion of Kurukh language in West Bengal. It may be noted that Kurukh language is declared as one of the official language in West Bengal on 21 February,2017, on the occasion of International mother language day and passed in the West Bengal assembly in 2018. There's a plan to organise similar training program in the coming month, expectedly in the second and fourth week of April,2024. The effort of Government of WB towards this is certainly a praiseworthy.
